Duncan Fergusonemail me

Duncan comes to Scherer, Schneider and Paulick with 22 years of broad-based business and human resources management experience, including ten years as a senior HR leader with BP-Amoco and GATX Corporation. Strong interpersonal communication skills coupled with a sincere, enthusiastic interest in helping people allow Duncan to build trust and develop great working relationships with individuals. Because of these traits, he was sought out as an internal coach and consultant by mid and senior level executives in both BP-Amoco and GATX. With SSP, Duncan provides a diverse range of services including job transition consulting, executive coaching and career development.

Duncan began his career with Amoco Corporation, progressing through several positions that gave him a solid foundation of human resources generalist experience. Later, he held leadership roles with Amoco and GATX that allowed him to broaden his focus into areas such as organizational and leadership development, succession planning and performance assessment. He has designed and implemented succession planning processes, facilitated executive 360 feedback processes, led transition management teams in support of large-scale reorganizations, designed and implemented employee performance assessment processes and served as Course Director for Amoco’s worldwide Human Resources Developmental Workshop.

Duncan grew up in Michigan and received both his Masters (MA, Labor and Industrial Relations) and Bachelors (BA, Economics) degrees from Michigan State University. He moved to Chicago in 1979 and currently resides in the southern suburbs with his wife and two teen-aged sons.
